Many of us move through the world feeling like we have to perform or fit into a specific box. Paint From Your Soul™ is a restorative workshop designed to help you quiet the noise, release stress, and reconnect with your own inner wisdom.
This isn't about learning technique (although we will help with that) or painting a "perfect" picture—it’s about expression, intuition, and community. Whether you are a seasoned artist or haven't picked up a brush since childhood, this is a judgment-free, affirming space to explore who you are becoming or who you truly are, layer by layer.

What to Expect
We blend gentle grounding and expressive painting to help you tap into your own joy and commune with your inner self.
Grounding & Breath: We start by settling in and setting a personal intention for your creative journey.
Exploring Emotions Using Color: We layer color to express emotions and ideas. We don't worry about outcomes; we focus on what wants to emerge from your authentic self.
Connecting with Your Inner Self: Rather than focusing on realism, we’ll use guided intuition to bring your chosen archetype to life, turning your canvas into a sacred space for personal reflection.
Reflecting: We wrap up with optional (but encouraged) reflection time—a chance to share, feel heard, and celebrate the authentic self you’ve brought to life on the canvas - either one-on-one with Beka or in a small group led by Beka.
Your Guide for this virtual event will be Beka Owens, MS, RYT-200, Certified Facilitator of Paint From Your Soul™.
She will take you through a very unique and surprising art experience you've probably NEVER tried before!
It will bust through creative blocks and unleash your creativity as you explore your Self and your intuitive wisdom through art.

What is this event?

What materials do we need?
For in-person retreats, all supplies will be provided. For virtual events, you will need the following:
Art Supplies:
One 16x20" canvas
Basic set of acrylic paints plus raw sienna, burnt sienna, raw umber
1 medium-sized brush, 1 small square brush, 1 small round brush
Matte medium
Piece of chalk
Things you've probably got around the house:
Paper towel
Plastic fork
Paper and Pencil to sketch with
Washcloth that can get paint on it

Apron or cover-up
Easel, paint markers, marbles or balls that can get paint on them
*If you don't like the feel of paint on your hands, you will want to wear a pair of nitrile gloves OR avoid painting techniques that get your hands messy. Allergy warning: Please do not bring latex gloves to an in person event.

Will we be critiquing the art?
No, we are not in favor of critiquing artwork in general. We don't find it therapeutic or supportive of the art maker.
As you go through the process, you will receive feedback and inspiration, either individually or in small groups, with Beka.
Can I use something other than acrylics?
No, for the specific process we are doing in this event, acrylics are necessary.
We love all mediums, but acrylics offer a quick drying time and the ability to build up layers that we need for this experience.
Beka prefers working with Natural Earth Paint - eco-friendly art supplies, and this is what will be provided at in person events. She strongly recommends that you use them at home, but you may also use other acrylic paints if you choose to.
What if I miss some of the live class?
For virtual retreats, we will record the entire session both days. If you miss anything, you can watch the recording afterward. We do not offer refunds on the retreat because you will receive the call recordings.
If you cannot attend the entire in-person retreat, please consider the virtual option or another date when you can be fully present. Please give at least 48 hours’ notice for a refund, or reschedule for a future event.
Do you teach techniques?
Yes, we will be teaching you drawing and painting techniques that will help you create an image you feel proud of while also learning to listen to the wisdom of the image and trust what wants to happen.
